Israel Adesanya Getting Knocked Out

Watch Izzy Adesanya Getting Sparked Out!

Now I did not even know about this video until I went looking for it but apparently it shows the only time "The Last Stylebender" got knocked out in a fight.

It looks like some sort of Japanese event, held in a boxing ring. The video is short so I don't know if it's MMA or Kickboxing or even Muay Thai and as I don't speak Japanese I have no idea what the commentators or ringmaster were saying

However, it does show Izzy Israel Adesanya losing another fight, besides his one to Jan Blachowicz at light heavyweight in the UFC

This fight is obviously outside of the #UFC so his record of 22 wins and 1 loss still stands, however it is interesting to watch a young Izzy in action, especially getting sparked out, as I never knew about this fight before.

Enjoy.

Israel Adesanya Getting Knocked Out

Israel Adesanya v Jan Błachowicz - #UFC259

In the UFC, Izzy also tried to repeat Conor McGregor's success of holding two belts at two different weights when he went up a division to fight Jan Blachowicz at light heavyweight.

However, it didn't look like Izzy had prepared for the fight by gaining weight, and the much stronger and heavier fighter won the day on points

At least Izzy didn't get knocked out though, unlike the first fight video, as Jan won on points in a unanimous decision at #UFC259.

I did have a video of the full fight for Israel Adesanya v Jan Blachowicz, however, it was someone filming the fight from the audience, so the UFC has taken it down from YouTube, if you were lucky enough to visit this page in the first 2 weeks it was up you could have watched what was a quite decent and steady phone video of the whole fight on this page. Instead, all we have are the official highlights.

So what do you think of The Last Stylebender getting sparked out, had you seen this fight before, or was it new to you.

Let me know in the comments.

  2. BANG, Never knew he had been sparked out until I saw that video...well I guess coming early in your career before UFC it made him more cautious as he knows what is like to be on the mat unconscious, so it probably made him a better fighter.

  5. You should keep this page as a memory of all Izzys losses. When somweone is so big headed they think they are invincible like Conor McGregor before his 1st loss, then it comes as such a shock to that person as they surround themselves with "Yes" men and actually start to believe their own hype. Must be a manjor shock to the system to get KO'd when you think you are unbeatable but it's best to get it done when your young so you don't grow up to be a massive big headed prick like Conor was and Izzy is. No one in unbeatsble!!!!

  7. yes you all may be happy to see him get sparked out but maybe that early KO is what he needed to become the most exciting UFC fighter to hit the Octagon since Conor McGregor and Spiderman Anderson Silva, that fight is on this site > https://mma-ufc-wwe-wwf-boxing-treats.blogspot.com/2019/10/one-of-greatest-ufc-fights-you-will-see.html and it really is good when he does the little Bruce Lee hand gesture to "come on then", plus at the end they have so much respect for each other they both sit down and bow to each other. So that early KO may have made Izzy wary of a stray punch to the head, but it's made him the best fighter out there to weatch (usually - his last fight against Robert Whitaker was a tad boring > https://mma-ufc-wwe-wwf-boxing-treats.blogspot.com/2022/02/ufc-271-israel-adesanya-v-robert.html but then that was peobably the caution Izzy went to not get spoarked out like he had done to Whitaker when he wom the belt from him. So whilst he msybe a biut of a louyd mouth and show it off he is still the most exciting fighter out there in the cage at the moment.

  8. Izzy Wizzy Lets Get Bizzy, only reason he is good is that he skinny and has long legs and arms, this means
    a) there is less of a target to attack by his opponent.
    b) he can outreach you when kicking or punching and whenever you want to strike him you need to get into his range without being struck and a lot of his strikes are counter strikes due to people rushing him and Izzy being able to kick or punch his opponent before they get too close,
    c) He is not into ground n pound BJJ, but has good takedown defence. He would rather be standing up kickboxing than on the floor trying to get an armbar. Whilst this is good for fans watching (as who wants to Royce Gracie n Ken Shamrock lie on top of each other for 30 mins?? It means that the best way to defeat him is a succesfull takedown, not near the cage where if he is still standing up he is very good at speading those long legs to prevent an opponent from tripping him over and getting him to the floor and into a front, half guard and so on etc. Therefore as he keeps moving about in the centre of the ring it is a case of having to be prepared to take some incoming strikes as you go for a takedown, preferably by hiding your intentions so he doesn't think it's a take down. If you can get him on the floor, and on top of him in the middle of the cage then you can possibly win. However whilst Jan Blachowicz was able to do this due to his bigger build, in Middle Weight nearly all take down attempts on him have seen Izzy 1) know a take down was coming and 2) move backwards fast enough to get his back against the cage so he can defend it successfully.
So unless he meets a fighter with longer reach or just as good a kick boxer as him where he gets struck by a punch he was not expecting then I cannot see him getting beat in his OWN divission very soon.
